So, I recently bought a jean jacket thinking, “Hey, I can totally rock this.” Then Ford teamed up with Pedro Capó on the latest Música Ford campaign, and I saw how a jean jacket is really supposed to look. Mine’s going back ASAP. But you should definitely check out this campaign. Heads up: my one-sided bromance with Pedro might shine through as you read on.

A Safe Ride for Risk Takers

Let’s kick things off by talking about the song featured in the campaign, “Sabe Bien.” It’s a fantastic track. And if you’re new to Pedro Capó, go listen through the top 5 popular songs of his on Spotify. Every one of them is a straight bop. And Pedro makes me believe one day I can look good with gray in my beard…wait…what were we talking about? Ah yes, the campaign video...uhem...so Pedro describes the song as capturing that irresistible urge to take risks, where danger adds to the thrill. But I love the messaging pivot to the Ford F-150 as a tough, reliable, and safe vehicle. The subtext being, we take plenty of intentional risks in life, your vehicle shouldn’t be one of them…well done sir (and creative team 😉).

A VIP Experience for Both the Female and Male Gaze

Pedro Capó x Ford - Facebook PostOne of our main goals in our Ford campaigns is lead generation, often through artist VIP experiences, exclusive merch, and similar perks. Speaking of…I need to check the rules on employees entering, how can we become best friends if we don’t meet?! Anyway, while browsing comments on a campaign post meant to drive sweeps registrations, I came across a gem from a Mr Hugo: “No se quien sea, pero está guapo y tendré que empezar a seguirlo,” meaning, “I don’t know who this is, but he’s handsome and I’m going to start following him.” It was a literal LOL moment for me, but it underscores how powerful brand-artist alignments are. The comments are filled with supportive, adoring, and positive comments from existing fans, and in the case of Hugo, new fans. People connect deeply with music, and at MAX, we harness that connection to turn music partnerships into marketing performance.

PS. So you know I don't make things up just for great content, I came with receipts on that Facebook post comment...

Power for Any Situation

One more quick note. It’s not always easy to integrate product and features in a natural way into the storytelling of campaign content. But showcasing the Pro Power Onboard to plug in an amp and guitar and use the bed of a truck as a stage…then turning the product video into a music video? 👨‍🍳💋 So if you haven’t already…and there’s no excuse at this point…you need to check out this campaign. Then go get more tattoos, a jean jacket, and trade in your black F-150 for a red one...no you shut up! 😬
