This campaign is designed to build brand awareness and drive engagement for the McDonald's summer beverage, the Red Bull® Dragonberry Energizer, within select DMAs.
Marcey Yates is from Omaha, Nebraska, and went to college in Phoenix, Arizona, giving him personal ties to multiple DMAs within the target.
MAX created geofenced social videos for sub-audiences within the target that showcase his ties to those geographic areas, making the content even more relevant for audiences.
Marcey Yates' regional ties allow McDonald's to resonate with the target audience through Marcey's lived experiences that reflect the lives of local audiences.
Behind the Music A/B (two market-specific videos): Q&A where Marcey reflects on his ties to two target DMAs and shares childhood memories of McDonald's (his go-to stop after playing sports with his friends).
Sip Test: Viral-inspired first reaction video capturing Marcey as he tries the Red Bull® Dragonberry Energizer and gets energized to head into the studio.
Vocal Chill: Studio clip of Marcey performing his track, “Cash for Warmups,” while integrating the featured beverage into the scene.
Honey Fries: Marcey talks about his favorite McDonald's treat: fries dipped in honey.
The campaign includes a live concert activation where Marcey asks fans to pull out their phones to enter a sweepstakes on SET.Live. Offering incentives like artist merch bundles and free Refreshers for a year, the live activation funnels engaged, excited fans to the McDonald's Rewards App through post-check-in messaging and download links.
