AARP Presents: Doug E. Fresh

Since 2020, MAX has partnered with AARP to create custom, engaging content with artists who share a story beyond their music, capturing the essence of the AARP brand message–enhancing the quality of life for all as we age–and the critical message of brain health.

Through this ongoing virtual concert series, AARP celebrates the scientific connection between music and brain health, all while bringing music–and joy–into people’s lives.

Brain health is vital to well-being and is particularly important as we age and music stimulates many areas of the brain and can boost memory, movement, and mood. Engaging with music takes little time, effort, or money, but can have a huge impact on brain health–and can even improve physical and mental health outcomes.

From AARP: Staying Sharp’s Guide to Music and Brain Health gives you a deep dive into the long-lasting effects of music on your brain. Explore how music and memory are intrinsically tied together. Understand new ways to experience music, and delve into some genres that may be new to you. Hear from top scientists on how music can flex different areas of the brain. This comprehensive guide provides fascinating and fun insights into the world of music.

The AARP virtual concerts themselves provide brain health benefits, encouraging audiences to sing, dance, and interact with music, celebrating the powerful connection between music and brain health by bringing the science to life.

This AARP campaign features legendary artist Doug E. Fresh celebrating 50 years of hip-hop and the connection between music and brain health. The partnership kicked off with an AARP on-site activation at Cincinnati Music Fest where festival-goers could register for an upcoming virtual concert featuring Doug E. Fresh and, as an added bonus, sign up for the chance to win a VIP meet & greet with Doug E. Fresh at the festival.

By adding live activations to their music campaigns, AARP hopes to connect with people virtually and in-person, nationally and locally, through a variety of channels, driving deep, purposeful engagement and driving leads for the organization. AARP also wanted to ensure that everyone who has grown to love the virtual concert series still has the opportunity to enjoy these concerts from their homes. The campaign culminates in an AARP sponsored virtual concert featuring Doug E. Fresh celebrating 50 years of hip-hop and the connection between music and brain health.

We are proud of our ongoing partnership with AARP, helping the organization reach, educate, and entertain its members and prospects, driving engagement, excitement, and affinity.
